Description
'D' Warehouse at Metropolitan Wharf is a 7-storey stock brick warehouse built around 1870. It features three bays and has a parapet coping raised in the gable, which contains an oculus above the center. The window bays and hatch rank on the west side are set within full-height round arched recesses, with engineering brick dressings to the arches and the reveals of the hatch rank. The ground floor is faced with engineering brick. The windows have iron framed small pane glazing and the segmental arched windows on the top floor are designed as lunettes that follow the arches of the recesses. The river elevation is similar, but it has a hatch rank in the center and the eastern bay features two tiers of arched recesses. There are also a pair of wall-mounted lattice jibbed pivot cranes.
