Description
Chambers Wharf is a warehouse built around 1865 to 1870. It is constructed of stock brick and features a hipped slate roof behind a coped parapet. The building stands five storeys high and has three bays. The street-facing elevation includes a central ground-floor waggon entrance with a hatch above, flanked by gauged brick, segmental-arched windows on all floors except the ground. The riverside elevation is similar, though the left-hand windows are blocked. A wall-mounted lattice-jibbed crane is located on the second floor, and there are circular tie-rod plates on both elevations. Inside, the warehouse has timber floors and posts, but most windows were boarded up at the time of the survey.
