Description
Nos 6 to 90 on Bromley Street, built in the early 19th century, are a terrace of brick cottages featuring a coped parapet and a stucco string course at the first-floor sill height. The brickwork has been patched, and some rebuilding has occurred in the same style due to war damage. The cottages are two storeys high, each with two windows that are mostly sashes with glazing bars. The doorways are round arched and flanked by either fluted or plain pilasters, with fanlights above. Some of the original six-panelled doors remain, although many houses are now empty and have their ground floor windows and doors boarded up. Internally, the cottages are said to have panelled dados and plain fluted mantelpieces. This group of buildings, along with Nos 9 to 47 opposite and No 49 (The British Prince Public House), forms a cohesive architectural ensemble.
