Description
Bromley Street E1 features a terrace of brick cottages, numbered 9 to 47 (odd), dating from the early 19th century. The buildings have a coped parapet and a stucco string course at the first-floor sill height. The cottages from numbers 9 to 23 (odd) have a rusticated stucco ground floor. They are two storeys tall and each has two windows, some of which are round arched with sash designs, while others include glazing bars. The doorways are arched and flanked by pilasters, topped with fanlights. Most of the houses are currently empty, with their ground floor windows and doors boarded up. Internally, they are reported to have panelled dados and fluted mantelpieces. This terrace, along with the even-numbered houses from 6 to 90 and The British Prince Public House at number 49, forms a cohesive group.
