Description
WAPPING HIGH STREET 1. 4431 Warehouse on corner TQ 3480 22/8 GV of Brewhouse Lane II
- Early to mid C19 long warehouse range of stock brick. Two storeys with coped parapet, the latter appearing partly to have been rebuilt. Possibly intended as a multi-storey warehouse or originally built as such. Portland stone plinth. The corner to Brewhouse Lane is rounded. Coupled window bays set in 2 storey shallow flat arched panels. Relatively narrow 3 x 4 pane windows with Portland stone sills and flat gauged brick arches. Two segmental arched waggon entrances at either end of High Street elevation. Later extension to north along Brewhouse Lane. Important position opposite King Henry's Wharves and in relation to Gun Wharves.
