Description

This building is a warehouse located at the corner of Brewhouse Lane and Wapping High Street, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of stock brick and consists of two storeys topped with a coped parapet, which appears to have been partly rebuilt. The warehouse may have been designed as a multi-storey structure or originally built as such. It features a Portland stone plinth and a rounded corner at Brewhouse Lane. The façade includes coupled window bays set within shallow flat-arched panels, with relatively narrow windows arranged in a 3 x 4 pane configuration, all having Portland stone sills and flat gauged brick arches. There are two segmental arched wagon entrances located at either end of the High Street elevation. Additionally, there is a later extension to the north along Brewhouse Lane. The warehouse holds an important position opposite King Henry's Wharves and in relation to Gun Wharves.
