Description

This building on Fashion Street, constructed as a shopping arcade or bazaar, dates from the 18th century. It is designed in a Moorish style. Four short towers rise through the eaves, each topped with a pyramidal roof covered in pantiles and featuring finials. The building is two storeys high and has approximately 142 windows, arranged in single, paired, triple, or quadruple configurations. The facade is stuccoed, with a red brick plinth and prominent pilasters positioned between the first-floor windows. A decorative eaves cornice and blocking course incorporate arcading below. Windows are framed by cusped arches, with an enriched band separating the floors. The ground floor is arcaded, and a decorated band sits above the elliptical arches. The northern end of the building (number 48) features three windows with Gothic arches. Numbers 10 to 48 form a group.
