Description
St Andrew's Wharf "A" Warehouse is a building that dates from around 1850 to 1860 and has been converted into flats. It was rebuilt in the 20th century after being fire-damaged, with a facade that replicates the original dockside elevation. The structure is made of stock brick and features a parapet that has been raised to form a flat-topped gable. The warehouse stands seven storeys tall and consists of five bays. The ground floor has segmental-arched entrances, while segmental-arched recesses extend from the first to the sixth floors, containing windows and hatch ranks. The central three bays rise one storey higher than the others. Segmental-headed windows are present in the central and outer bays, flanking two hatch ranks that have been adapted into balconies. The interior has not been inspected. The building is now part of the Java Wharf residential development and is located next to St Saviour's Wharf, contributing to a group value with other warehouses situated between St Saviour's Dock and Shad Thames.
