Description
Shuter's Wharf is a warehouse built around 1880, now converted into flats. It features stock brick construction and has a truncated-gabled frontage that rises four storeys and consists of three bays. The central hatch rank, which originally served its purpose, has bull-nosed reveals and has been adapted into balconies, with a garage-type door at ground level. The squat windows, which have been replaced with small-pane iron glazing, are topped with segmental arches. A hoist is present at the hatch rank on the fourth floor. The building has a similar appearance on the dockside elevation. Although the interior was not inspected, the warehouse backs onto St Saviour's Dock and is part of a group of buildings that hold good group value with other warehouses located between St Saviour's Dock and Shad Thames.
