Description

Unity Wharf is a warehouse, dating to around 1850, now used for commercial purposes. The building is constructed of stock brick with a truncated gable front. It is a plain, rectangular structure of four storeys and three bays. The front elevation features windows with gauged-brick cambered heads, and a central hatch rank which has been altered. These elements are contained within three full-height recesses with gauged-brick round-headed arches. Circular tie-rod plates are visible on the front, alongside a cast-iron pivot hoist with an arched brace and circular bracing to the spandrel. The dockside elevation is similar, with a flight of granite steps cut into the dock wall to the right. The interior has not been inspected. Unity Wharf represents the beginning of a notable group of listed warehouses along the east side of St Saviour's Dock, harmonizing with the buildings on the opposite, west side of Shad Thames.
