Description

Numbers 78 and 92 with attached area railings form part of a terrace of eight houses, built around 1825. The houses are constructed of amber brick, with a rusticated stucco ground floor and basement. They feature a moulded stucco cornice and blocking course. The central and outer sections are three and four storeys high with a basement; the inner sections are slightly recessed and are three storeys high with a basement. Each house has two bays. The ground-floor openings have voussoirs forming round arches. The doors are within plain reveals and have decorative fanlights, except at numbers 82 and 84, and are set within moulded stucco architraves. Numbers 78 and 92 have doors within recessed, single-bay extensions, with ground-floor windows in round-arched recesses. First-floor windows are casements with wrought-iron guards. Remaining windows are sash windows with glazing bars, the upper-floor sashes having flat, gauged-brick arches. A subsidiary cornice is present above the second floor of the central and outer sections. The interior was not inspected. The property includes cast-iron railings and dividing rails.
