Description

Numbers 2-9 and attached railings form a terrace of eight houses built around 1813-1824 in Camden. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick, with some later patching and refacing, and number 4 has a stuccoed facade. The ground floors are rusticated stucco, with numbers 2 and 9 lightly scored to resemble ashlar, and number 3 is plain. Stucco bands delineate the first floor. The houses are four storeys high, with basements, and each has two windows. The doorways are round-arched, framed by pilaster jambs (mostly reeded), and topped with cornice-heads, featuring patterned or radial fanlights (except for numbers 2-4) and panelled doors. The recessed sash windows are set within gauged brick flat arches; the first floor windows (except number 3) have cast-iron balconies. The terrace is topped with parapets. Numbers 2 and 4 have decorative cast-iron rainwater heads. The interior was not inspected. Attached cast-iron railings with urn finials mark the areas.
