Description
The parish boundary stone, wall, and pier are located at St George's Wharf, on the west side at the north end. The boundary stone, dated 1819, is made of Portland stone and stands approximately 3 feet 6 inches tall and 2 feet wide. It features a moulded cornice and a central dividing groove. The inscriptions on the stone include "St/MR/1819/1877/1886" with a bench mark below on the right side, and "St/PD/1819" on the left side. This stone marks the boundary between the parishes of St Mary Rotherhithe and St Paul Deptford, established in 1819 and ratified in 1877 and 1886.
Adjacent to the south is a low wall, about 5.9 meters long, constructed of early 19th-century Flemish bond brick with moulded Portland stone coping that slightly ramps up to the boundary stone. At the southern end of this wall is a pier similar to the boundary stone, which bears a blurred bench mark.
