Description
South Lock, hydraulic capstans and mooring posts were built in 1855. The structure features a granite pavement with the mouth lined with ashlar blocks. On the north side of the lock, there are two hydraulic capstans, each located at the mouth of the lock, accompanied by a mooring post next to each. The south side of the lock does not have any capstans but includes three mooring posts. The lock gates have been removed, as well as the swing bridge, which has been relocated to the cutting on the north side of Greenland Lock, leading to the former Norway Dock.
