Description

The Colonnade Building, dating from circa 1788, comprises two blocks of two storeys and five windows each. The building is constructed of multicoloured stock brick, with a low-pitched hipped slate roof. The sash windows have glazing bars and are set within gauged, near-flat brick arches. Alternate windows on the first floor are blocked. Ground floor buildings are linked by a Doric colonnade of paired and single columns, topped with an entablature, which extends beyond the ends of the buildings. Two additional bays have been added above this colonnade extension. Brick links connect to the main buildings at the left, centre, and right, featuring segment-headed entrances with side lights and fanlights. The entrances are accessed via six-panel doors, each with a rectangular fanlight. The building is currently being converted into flats by the Greater London Council.
