Description

Four terraced houses were built in the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed of stucco-faced brick, with parapeted roofs. Each house has three storeys over a basement, and features three windows. The ground floor has a pair of round-arched windows within round-arched recesses. The original window pattern is partly preserved on the right-hand unit, featuring casements with margin lights in the lower half of the window and a glazed tympanum with margin lights above. Two of the ground-floor windows feature late 20th-century 6x6 sash windows, designed to resemble 19th-century originals. A basket-arched entrance, reached by a short flight of steps, is located to the right of the ground floor of each house. Upper-floor windows are flat-arched; those on the first floor have 6x6 sashes and early 19th-century cast-iron balconettes on the left-hand unit, while the remaining balconettes are late 19th-century in style. The left-hand top-floor window has 6x6 sashes and retains a cornice to the parapet. The remaining top-floor windows are casements with margin lights. Party wall stacks are present. The interior was not inspected. The houses appear to have been restored more recently, resulting in a uniform appearance across the terrace.
