Description
The Old College Gate to Dulwich Park, built around 1895, features a combination of artificial stone and cast- and wrought-iron materials. It consists of eight identical gate piers that frame two carriageways and two pedestrian walkways. The railings extend to the road and are finished with a pier at each end. Each square pier has rebated corners and is topped with a rusticated capital that includes an ornamental plaque and stylized Neo-Grecian designs, with volute scrolls on the capital. The piers flanking the vehicle entrances are inscribed with the words "Old College Gate."
