Description

Numbers 144-156 and attached railings comprise a row of seven terraced houses dating from the early to mid-19th century. The houses are stucco-faced, with slate roofs on the four leftmost units and a broader pediment covering the other two. They have eleven windows in total, arranged over two storeys and an attic, with dormers visible. The ground-floor windows are round-arched, with the entrance to the house on the right accessed via a Tuscan prostyle porch. Upper-floor windows are flat-arched, and the four leftmost units feature first-floor French doors leading to metal balconies; the pair of houses on the left have cast-iron balconies of an original design. The right-hand units were once part of a terrace known as 'Belvue House'. The interior has not been inspected. The property includes cast-iron area railings. It is listed for group value with numbers 158-166.
