Description
This chest tomb, dating from around 1815, is located approximately 60 meters south of the Church of St Mary Magdalene, near Abbey Street. It has a rectangular shape and stands on a tall plinth that still features high-quality railings. The railings have spearhead finials on all the posts, with the corner and central uprights being banded and bulbous towards the base. The earliest burial recorded here is from 1815, with the last noted interment being for Robert Foster in 1839, among others.
