Description
This is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, approximately 17 metres southeast of the south aisle. It dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The tomb stands flat and formerly had a railing, which has since been removed. It features a moulded plinth and a raised oval inscription plaque on the south side, although the inscription is almost illegible. There are shell motifs in the four outer corners and a frieze with raised lozenges. The north side has a similar panel that includes the date 1808, along with star-shaped motifs in the outer corners. The tomb is topped with moulded capping and a hipped upper capping stone.
