Description
The Plough Inn is an inn dating from the 17th to early 18th century. It features square-panelled timber framing that was restored in the 20th century, with 20th-century brick infill. The gable ends are made of coursed squared and dressed limestone. The building has a thatched roof with 20th-century brick stacks, one of which is on an ashlar plinth, and it stands at one and a half storeys high. The inn has three bays and three gabled dormers with artificial stone slate roofs at the eaves. On the ground floor, there is one two-light and one three-light casement window, along with a plank door set within a flat-chamfered segmental-headed surround on the left gable end. Inside, the inn retains original beams, an early plank door with a thumb latch, and a fine flat-chamfered stone fireplace with a 'Tudor' arch.
