Description
The monument to Henry Atkinson is a tomb chest located in Dulwich Old Burial Ground, dated 1780. It commemorates Henry Atkinson and Elizabeth Vanderesch. The stone chest features fluted corner pilasters and an angled lid. According to the inscription, Atkinson served as Provost of the Corporation of Moneyers of his Majesty's Mint. The monument is positioned to the right of the entrance gates, just south of the Force tomb slab. This burial ground, consecrated in 1616, is notable for not being situated next to any church or chapel.
