Description

Nos 11 to 13 Eliot Place date from 1803-4 and have undergone alterations since. They are constructed of multicoloured stock brick with parapet fronts designed to conceal the roofs. Each property is three storeys high with a sunken basement and has three windows. Sash windows with glazing bars—some of which have been replaced—are set within stucco lined reveals and feature gauged flat brick arches above. The ground floors have arcaded facades, with the windows of Nos 12 and 13 having round arches. A moulded impost string runs along the front. No 11 has a stone sill band to the first floor. The front door at No 11 is modern, featuring a cornice head and a patterned rectangular fanlight within a panelled surround, and is accessed via a prostyle porch with rounded dentils to the columns and cornice. There is a narrow, three-storey left-hand extension and a one-storey, one-bay right-hand extension. At No 12, a late 19th-century Doric porch is filled with brick and stucco and contains a six-panel door with a plain rectangular fanlight, accompanied by wrought iron area railings. A narrow three-storey right-hand extension is also present. No 13 has an altered six-panel door with a patterned fanlight, positioned within an arch-like window opening, alongside wrought iron area railings. A narrow, three-storey left-hand extension extends from this property.
