Description

This is an early 19th-century pair of buildings, numbers 25 and 27 New Cross Road. They are each five storeys high with a basement, and each has two windows. The buildings are constructed of yellow stock brick with an altered stucco cornice and blocking course. Stucco bands run along the first and second floors, serving as sill bands. Sash windows are set within gauged brick arches; some windows retain glazing bars. Some window arches have been covered with stucco. The ground floor windows are round-headed with round-arched recesses and stuccoed panels below. Number 27 has interlacing glazing bars in its windows. Attached columns support cornice heads and plain taillights under round brick arches. Number 27 has a six-panel door, while number 25 has an altered door. Buildings numbers 3 to 41 (odd numbers) form a group.
