Description

These are an early to mid-19th century pair of buildings, numbers 13 and 15 New Cross Road. Each building is two storeys high with a basement, and originally had two windows. The facades are of yellow stock brick with a stucco frieze, a dentil cornice, and a parapet. The projecting, narrower outer bays are more prominent, with a recessed section on the central axis. Moulded stucco architraves frame the sash windows, and those on the ground floor have a frieze and console-bracketed dentil cornice. Each building has a door of six beaded panels; the door to number 15 has been altered. Above each door is a plain rectangular fanlight, all within a flat entablature surround with a dentil cornice. Ornamental cast iron handrails are present on the steps. Numbers 3 to 41 (the odd numbers) form a group.
