Description

This is an early 19th century pair of buildings, numbers 32 and 34 New Cross Road. Each building is three storeys high with a basement, and has three windows. They are constructed of multicoloured stock brick, with stucco bands at the level of the second-floor window sills and the first floor. The parapet of number 34 has been stuccoed, while number 32 is stuccoed over entirely, featuring quoins, a cornice, and a blocking course. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The first-floor windows of number 34 have flat-gauged brick arches on the ground and second floors. The first floor has an arcade with impost blocks. The ground-floor windows of number 32 have decorative leading, added in the early 20th century. The doors are six-panel doors with fluted quadrant pilasters, a mutule cornice head, and a plain fanlight, all set within a round-headed stucco architrave with a keystone.
