Description

This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of houses, numbered 18 to 28, located on the south-east side of St Mary's Gardens. The terrace comprises two storeys and a basement, with each house originally featuring two windows. The exterior is of stock brick with a stone-coped parapet. The ground floor and basement are stuccoed, with incised lines forming detail. Pilasters support a ground floor entablature, which extends upwards to a cill band of the first floor. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, set within gauged flat brick arches. The ground floor windows are long casements with transoms and patterned cast iron balconies. The front doors consist of five panels, each with a rectangular fanlight above. Original cast or wrought iron area railings are also present. An entrance to number 28 is located on the right return side of the building.
