Description

This is a long range of two-storey, two-window cottages built between 1913 and 1914 by Adshead and Ramsey for the Duchy of Cornwall Estate. The building is constructed of yellow stock brick, with a stuccoed first-floor cill band featuring a key pattern, a top dentil cornice, and a blocking course. The sash windows retain glazing bars and are set beneath gauged brick arches, which are round on the ground floor; some ground floor windows have interlaced bars. The doors are of two large panels with a lozenge-glazed top light. The outer sections of the range feature doors with reeded architraves and radial fanlights set within round-arched recesses with a keystone mask. Low wrought iron front railings are present. A section to the south of the centre features two houses projecting under a pediment decorated with a feather motif, a flanking pair stepped back, four houses in the main plane, and projecting pairs at either end. These houses have trellis wood porches with lead canopies, swept in the centre.
