Description
This milestone, dating from the early 18th century, is a stout post made of Portland stone located on the north side of Clapham Common, opposite the junction with Victoria Rise. The west face of the milestone is inscribed with "V miles from the Standard in Cornhill," while the east face also states "V miles from ...", although the remainder of the inscription is illegible.
