Description

The Post Office pillar box outside number 50 on The Chase was designed by J W Penfold and built between 1866 and 1876. It has a hexagonal shape with a roll-moulded plinth coping. The cornice features balls instead of traditional dentils, and the top is raised in an ogee shape, adorned with a leaf pattern and topped with a pine-cone finial.
