Description

This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of six properties, numbered 155 to 161 Kennington Road. Each property is three storeys high with a basement, and has two windows facing the street. The facades are rendered in stucco and feature incised lines. A rusticated band runs around the ground floor. Above the cill band of the first floor are paired pilasters, Tuscan style on the first floor, with panelling above to a cornice and blocking course. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded architraves. Number 155 has a patterned cast iron balcony to the left of the first floor and window guards on the ground floor. Number 161 has patterned cast iron balconies to both first floor windows. The ground floor windows are ornamented with masks on the key blocks. The front doors are four-panelled with two beaded panels above and below a plain fanlight, which is oblong in shape and has a console bracketed cornice hood.
