Description
135 and 137 Kennington Road is a late 18th-century pair of buildings, originally three storeys and a basement. Number 135 features an added three-storey left bay, while number 137 has been rebuilt. The buildings are constructed of stock brick and have a stone-coped parapet. They display gauged flat brick arches above the sash windows. The doors consist of four fielded and two beaded panels, topped with a fluted cornice head and a plain fanlight set in a panelled round-arched reveal with an enriched architrave. Both buildings have a prostyle open pedimented Roman Doric porch, which also includes carved enrichment. There are steps leading to the door terrace, accompanied by wrought iron handrails, guard rails, and area railings.
