Description

The tomb of Daniel and Alice Cooper is a chest tomb located in West Norwood Memorial Park, dating from the mid-19th century, with the designer unknown. It is made of stone and features a rectangular stepped base designed in an early 18th-century style. The sides are S-profile and are intricately carved with sinuous bas-relief acanthus leaves and poppy heads, which symbolize the sleep of death, along with inscriptions. The long sides of the tomb have rectangular inscription plaques. The curved lid forms segmental pediments at both ends, adorned with carved crossed palms, while the long sides have smaller cross-lid segmental pediments with additional carved decoration. At the top, the lid is crowned by an enriched circular finial set on a square base.
