Description

The West Norwood Memorial Park features an elevated chest tomb dedicated to Hans Schwarze, dating from around 1883, with the designer remaining unknown. The tomb is constructed from grey and pink granite and has a rectangular, stepped base supported by six squat columns. The chest tomb itself has a moulded pink granite base and an inscribed frieze. Between the grey granite columns, there are bronze panels adorned with wreaths and inscriptions. The structure is topped with a cornice and a scoop-profile lid, which is surmounted by a pink granite cross flanked by scrolls.
