Description
The West Norwood Memorial Park features the A.A. Vlasto and family tomb located in the southeast corner of the Greek Burial Ground. This chest tomb, dating from the late 19th century, is made of marble and has an unknown designer. It is supported by a rectangular plinth with a moulded base and a finely carved top frieze adorned with foliar motifs. Each long side of the tomb displays a full-height square carved panel featuring paterae and a central cross within a square. The cornice is supported by large acanthus brackets, and the top has a round arch that is rolled at the edges, with segmental pediments that include carved details at either end.
