West Norwood Memorial Park A.P. Ralli And Family Tomb In South East Corner Of The Greek Burial Ground

The A.P. Ralli and family tomb is a chest tomb located in the southeast corner of the Greek Burial Ground within West Norwood Memorial Park. It dates from the late 19th century, and the designer is unknown. The tomb is made of marble and features an Italian style. It has a rectangular shape and is supported by a cable-moulded plinth, with barley sugar pilasters on either side of inscribed panels. Each long side of the tomb has two panels, each adorned with carved laurel wreaths. The flat top is decorated with a raised cross and cable-moulded edges, which have an overhanging finely carved valence with pendants. The tomb is set on a wide marble plinth, which is surrounded by hexagonal bollards that have Lombard friezes and conical caps. These bollards are linked by a heavy iron chain with spikes.
