Description
The Tomb of Christopher Gabriel is a chest tomb located in West Norwood Memorial Park, designed around 1873 with the carver being Kelsey. It is made of Portland stone and features a rectangular plan on a moulded base. The side panels are inscribed, and around the top, there is a continuous band of festooned bay leaves. Above this, the flat top forms an entablature with an inscribed frieze and a projecting cornice. The tomb stands on a raised stone plinth, which is surrounded by square plan iron railings made by J. Mills of 40 Great Russell Street.
