Chest tomb on high plinth. c1892, designer unknown. Grey granite with stone dressings. Massive granite plinth with quoins inset with paler granite and central inset inscribed panel. Stepped base to tomb which has polished granite columns with white stone bases and foliated capitals at angles supporting an overhanging pitched lid. Inscribed panels to sides, that to front with fine sculptured marble portrait bust in tondo. Below, resting on steps, a sculptured pink granite cushion, with tasselled corners, having a Bible open at Timothy 7:8. A popular preacher, Spurgeon was reported to have attracted more mourners than any other funeral in the cemetery's history.
