Description

The Tomb of Thomas Fenwick is a mausoleum located in Kensal Green Cemetery, dating from 1834. It is constructed of pale yellow limestone, possibly from Bath, and the mason responsible for its creation is unknown. The lower section of the tomb has a rectangular plan with battered sides and features a heavy plain door architrave. Below a moulded cornice, there is a cast iron door. The upper section has a shallow plinth and is topped with a pedimented roof. It is inscribed with "THE FAMILY TOMB OF THOMAS FENWICK ESQ." and is adorned with a coat of arms and a worn inscription. This tomb is one of the earliest monuments in the cemetery and shares an identical design with two other nearby mausolea.
