Description

The Tomb of the Duke of Somerset, who died in 1853, is located in Kensal Green Cemetery. This mausoleum is constructed from Portland stone and features a pylon-form doorway, although the door is missing. Above the doorway is a shallow pediment adorned with a coronet in the tympanum. The structure has battered sides and angle pilasters, and it is topped with a stone roof that has antefixes supporting a draped urn on a stepped base. Inside, there are marble inscription reliefs.
