Description

The Unidentified Mausoleum, dating from around 1834, is located on Harrow Road. It is constructed of pale yellow limestone, possibly Bath stone, though the mason is unknown. The lower section of the mausoleum is rectangular in shape with battered sides and features a heavy plain door architrave beneath a moulded cornice. The upper section has a shallow plinth that bears a worn inscription and is topped with a pedimented roof. This mausoleum is one of the earliest monuments in the cemetery and is part of a pair. It was illustrated in The Penny Magazine on August 2nd, 1834.
