Description

This police station, built in the mid to late 19th century, is designed in an Italianate/Vanbrugian style. It features yellow brick with stucco dressings and stands three storeys tall, measuring seven windows wide. The building has rusticated quoins and rustication on the ground floor windows. The entrance is located in the third bay from the left. All the windows have segmental heads with prominent keystones, except for the door, which has a round head and an oval shape. The windows are fitted with sashes and glazing bars. A circular oriel window has been added to the right-hand corner. The building is topped with a bracketed cornice and a parapet, and it is surrounded by area railings.
