Description

No. 8 Lennox Gardens is a large house built between 1880 and 1886 by George Devey for Hon Mrs Hunloke. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and quoins, and is built in the Queen Anne style. The design differs from the other houses within Lennox Gardens. The house has two storeys, an attic, and a basement. It features a modillion cornice and a balustraded parapet with ball finials. Dormers are topped with pediments. Windows have cambered heads and keystones. A doorway on the front elevation has a broken cambered pediment supported by Ionic pilasters and enriched consoles; a similar doorway is found on the return elevation. The facade overlooking the gardens incorporates bay windows.
