Description
The property comprises a row of terraced houses built between 1839 and 1841 in Ripplevale Grove, Islington. The houses are constructed of yellow brick laid in a Flemish bond, with stucco dressings and a roof of Welsh slate. Numbers 26 and 30 have two-storey, recessed entrance bays, while number 28 is two storeys with two windows. Numbers 26 and 30 are also one-and-a-half storeys with three windows each. A basement is stuccoed. The flat-arched entrances each have an overlight and a panelled door of original design. The entrances to numbers 26 and 30 are recessed under a flat-arched porch, and the entrance to number 30 has simplified details. The entrance to number 28 is flanked by fluted quarter-columns supporting a cornice, and has a decorative overlight. All windows are flat-arched with gauged brick heads. Ground-floor windows are set back under elliptical arches of gauged brick, linked across number 28 and the inner bays of numbers 26 and 30 by a stucco springing band. Parapets are present on the outer bays of numbers 26 and 30, which also have a second-floor window in the gabled return. Chimney stacks are located on the party walls.
