Numbers 7, 11-35 (Odd) And Attached Railings

Numbers 7, 11-35 (odd), and their attached railings are a terrace of houses dating to 1767-79. They are constructed of various coloured brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco finishes and roofs of Welsh and artificial slate. The terrace is four storeys high with a basement, and generally features three windows per house, except for the former number 9, which has two. Most windows have flat arches with gauged brick heads, although some have segmental arches to the second floor, notably at numbers 11, 13, 15, 17 and 27. Number 7 has a doorcase with reeded pilasters supporting consoles and a cornice with an overlight. Numbers 11-21 have a storey band between the ground and first floors. A parapet tops the building, and it has a mansard roof with two dormers. Number 21 has a storey band between the first and second floors, and the second floor appears to have been rebuilt. Number 23 has lost its original doorcase. Numbers 27 and 29 feature moulded stucco architraves instead of doorcases, and number 27 also has segmental-arched windows to the first and second floors. Numbers 33 and 35 have elaborate doorcases featuring pilasters with guilloche patterns supporting a frieze with paterae, reeding, and rampant griffins, along with an overlight; decorative glazing is present on the overlight at number 33. A moulded stucco band is located above the first floor at number 35. The front area is protected by cast-iron railings.
