Description
Number 22 is a terraced house located on Cross Street in Islington, dating from before 1735. It is constructed of yellow brick laid in Flemish bond, with red brick dressings and a roof made of Welsh slate. The building has four storeys above a basement and features a three-window range. There are steps leading up to a round-arched entrance, which is framed by a wooden doorcase with engaged Corinthian columns that support an open pediment. The entrance includes a fanlight and a panelled door. The basement windows are segmental-arched with gauged brick heads, while the ground and first floor windows are flat-arched with gauged brick heads. The second floor windows are also flat-arched, but their heads have been crudely rebuilt. The building has a parapet and two dormers in the mansard roof. Additionally, there are area railings with spike finials attached to the property.
