Description

Numbers 310 to 324 (even) and attached railings form a terrace of houses, likely dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, with later additions. The houses vary in construction, with number 310 featuring brown brick, the remainder built of yellow brick in a Flemish bond pattern, and some stuccoed areas. Numbers 310 has three storeys plus a basement, while numbers 312-314 and the rest of the terrace have four storeys above a basement. Most houses have two windows each.

The basement and ground floor of numbers 312-314 are stuccoed, with the ground floor further decorated by banded rustication. Numbers 310-314 have round-arched entrances, featuring impost blocks but lacking an archivolt at number 310. The ground-floor windows of numbers 310-314 have flat arches with gauged brick heads. Numbers 316-324 have later shop fronts, some appearing to be of 19th-century origin. Number 316 features a projecting fascia and cornice supported by consoles, while numbers 318-324 have panelled sections below the shop windows and incorporate pilasters, fascia, and cornices. Upper-floor windows are flat-arched with gauged brick heads. Iron balconies are present on the first floor of numbers 312, 314, 320 and 324. Original 6/6 sash windows are present on the second floor of number 312. The buildings have mansard roofs covered with Welsh and artificial slate. Dormers are present in the mansard roof, except at number 320. Party wall stacks are visible. Cast-iron railings are located in the area of number 312.
