Description

No. 62 Forest Road is an early to mid-18th century stock brick villa, originally with three windows, and standing two storeys high. It has a hipped slate roof of a gentle slope, with an eaves soffit. The first floor features sash windows with gauged flat brick arches. A stuccoed cill band runs along the first floor, and the ground floor also has sash windows set within round arched recesses, each with a gauged round brick arch above. The front door is a six-panel design, with fluted quadrant pilasters, a corniced head, and a fanlight. It is set within a classical porch with enclosed sides, an arched front opening, and panelled pilasters. To the east is a later two-storey, four-window stock brick extension, distinguished by a stone-coped parapet. A cill band is present on the first floor of this extension. The first floor windows are casements with segmental arches, some of which are now blocked. A loading door is visible at first-floor level on the left side, and carriage doors are located below. Nos. 62 to 70 (even) are grouped together with the wall situated in front of the left side of No. 62.
