Description
Nos 9 and 11 on Parkholme Road are an early to mid-19th century pair of houses that have undergone some alterations. They each stand two storeys tall and feature two windows. The outer entrance bays project slightly from the main façade. The buildings are constructed of stock brick and have a parapet front, with a higher, shaped stucco parapet added above. The first-floor sash windows are topped with gauged flat brick arches and are set within round-arched recesses that include vertical bars and an impost band. The ground floor is stuccoed and has long casement windows with margin lights. There are four-panel doors situated between fluted quasi-Corinthian columns, although the entablatures above them have been lost. Some of the windows have been altered. Above the outer first-floor windows, there are recessed panels adorned with shell and garland ornament. Nos 7 to 13 (odd) form a group with these buildings.
