Description

Nos 7 and 9 Bishopsgate is a late 19th-century building that stands five storeys tall. It features a combination of stone and pink marble, with a six-bay façade where the two end bays project slightly and contain entrances. At the ground floor, pink marble pilasters support an entablature, and stone pilasters rise through the first and second storeys, topped by a pink marble frieze and a stone cornice adorned with modillions. The attic storey is pilastered and has a dentilled cornice, with console bracketed pediments over the end bays, which are rusticated at the first and second floor levels. The first floor windows in the entrance bays have cornice heads. The building also has large modern dormers set into the slate roof.
