Description
32 Threadneedle Street is a building constructed between 1919 and 1920, attributed to the architectural firm Whinney, Hall and Blomfield. It features a classical design made of Portland stone and incorporates a 17th-century entrance doorway from Merchant Taylors Hall. The building has three main storeys topped by a slated mansard roof and includes five windows. The ground storey is marked by rusticated piers, while the first floor showcases balustraded windows adorned with carved masks and festoons. Above the entrance doorway, there is a circular window and a pediment. The facade is finished with an enriched cornice and balustrade. The design of this building is continued in a simplified manner by the adjacent buildings at Nos 28, 29, and 34.
